Expo Icrontic 2014

This is the biggest Icrontic event of the year! It's the reason our community members save up their vacation time.

The premiere event is the BYOC LAN party; gaming laptop recommended but we'll have space and power for your desktop as well.

Events (so far) include the annual Tastes of Detroit Food Tour, Duct Tape Engineering Challenge, Magic: The Gathering, dedicated boardgaming, and more (there's always, always more.)

PC gaming tournaments include Team Fortress 2, Titanfall, and more: There are usually pick-up games of many varieties.

As always, there will be tons of prizes for attendees from our lovely sponsors.

Raffle auction:

Tickets will be awarded for participation in sanctioned gaming tournaments and other events. As always, there will be prizes available, each with its own raffle jar. Write your name on your tickets and deposit them by Saturday at 1am for the late night drawing.

Things to bring:

• Computer (Laptop highly recommended)
• 20+ ft ethernet cable
• Power strip (if you need more than 1 outlet)

We do NOT have spare ethernet cables, keyboards, or mice. If you're participating in the Food Tour, please bring cash to ease bill-splitting.

Accomodations:

Some Icrontic members recommend Courtyard by Marriott in Dearborn, which is about a 20 minute drive from ICHQ. There are also a wide variety of hotels close to ICHQ but hotels in the downtown Detroit area are pricey. If convenience trumps cost, please consider Doubletree, Marriot Downtown Detroit, or the brand-new Holiday Inn downtown.

Beverages & Food:

NO LIQUOR. Expo Icrontic is a beer & wine ONLY event, and absolutely no underage drinking will be tolerated. Expo Icrontic is a celebration of gaming, community, and events, not a house party.

Weather:

Be prepared for any kind of weather. We recommend both shorts for mid-day and a hooded sweatshirt / jeans for evenings. Michigan weather is crazy.

Lost & Found:

We DO NOT ship lost & found items so double-check for your phone charger and favorite hat when you're packing. Similarly, don't leave stuff for us to take to the post office. It's your responsibility to deal with it before you go.
